In
the life coaching process, you will be the center of attention.
Your life coach will be your equal partner who will focus entirely on
assisting you in achieving coachable goals. Genuine life coaches
will concentrate on you and will not infuse their egos, their agendas,
their programs, their opinions, their judgments, their pride, or their
personal needs on you or the process. Your life coach will ask
you coaching questions to assist you to discover the mystery of YOU.
The life coaching process is about you discovering and obtaining your
agendas and your objectives and not about a coach taking you where he
or she wants you to go. A coach should be able to easily and naturally
focus on you without hesitation, envy or personal restrictions.
You want your life coach to wholeheartedly support you as you complete
each of the steps towards your goals. They will celebrate your
victories, your rewards, and your breakthroughs.
To
prosper in the coaching process you want your life coach to feel a
special sense of enjoyment and accomplishment through your
victories. It takes a very special person to be able to truly
enjoy assisting you to grow and succeed without judgment or jealousy.
You will want your coach to naturally have these unique and very caring
personal characteristics. You would not want your coach to have to fake
it.
I have
found that people either have these special life coaching
characteristics or they don’t. People who have these special life
coaching characteristics have what I call “The Gift of Coaching.”
They were born with The Gift. Quality life coaches are blessed
with The Gift of Coaching that provides them the unique ability to
easily and sincerely assist you in accomplishing your coachable
goals. You will want your life coach get as much pleasure and
self satisfaction from your achievements as you do. Coaches with the
Gift of Coaching will genuinely and unpretentiously fulfill their ego
and sense of purpose through assisting you to reach your coachable
goals. They are "You" people; as opposed to "I" people who want and
need to be the center of attention. You do not want your life
coach to compete with you in any way for the center of attention.
You
will be able to tell if a coach has The Gift or not by experiencing a
sample coaching session. You will feel their Gift, or you won’t.
When you find a life coach who makes you feel so special as the
unrestricted center of their total attention, you have found the right
life coach for you. You will embark on a wonderful journey when
you connect with your special life coach who has the Gift of Coaching.
Enjoy your trip!
