I have ADD and love having it. I am a card carrying member of the ADD Club, and proud of it. I have thrived and enjoyed life in ways others can only dream about, because I have ADD. Two of my four children (ages 18 and 30) also have ADD and their ADD has given them the ability to prosper and overcome obstacles that would frustrate others.
Robin Williams, Albert Einstein, Tom Cruise, Henry Winkler, John Lennon, Walt Disney, Thomas Edison, Mohammed Ali, Bruce Jenner, Robert Kennedy, Magic Johnson, Carl Lewis, Galileo, Mozart, and Werner von Braun all thrived because they have or had ADD. more »

Looking around the Internet, you will probably find over a dozen different types of life type coaches listed and promoted. Shoot, we at The Coach Connection list thirteen different types of coaches on our web site alone. All of these coaching choices present a bewildering picture, and we even contribute to your confusion. Goodness, not only is the life coaching process probably new to you, but now it appears that you will have to also figure out which type of coach will be right for you from so many different choices. In the life coaching process, you will be the center of attention. Your life coach will be your equal partner who will focus entirely on assisting you in achieving coachable goals. Genuine life coaches will concentrate on you and will not infuse their egos, their agendas, their programs, their opinions, their judgments, their pride, or their personal needs on you or the process. Your life coach will ask you coaching questions to assist you to discover the mystery of YOU. The life coaching process is about you discovering and obtaining your agendas and your objectives and not about a coach taking you where he or she wants you to go. A coach should be able to easily and naturally focus on you without hesitation, envy or personal restrictions. You want your life coach to wholeheartedly support you as you complete each of the steps towards your goals. They will celebrate your victories, your rewards, and your breakthroughs. more »

As we mentioned early on, our intent was for our blog to be a forum to share stories of client success to demonstrate the power of successful life coaching. Today is the first in a regular series of coaching success stories. Names are changed to protect client confidentiality.
Marti, age 36, came to The Coach Connection, having just resigned from her high-pressure position as a computer consultant. In the past she’d held a variety of diverse positions from CPA, to editor and publisher, and manager a small retail business. She had also attended law school. Mardi had trouble saying “No.” Because she had extended herself in all areas of her life she wanted a coach to help her, once and for all, find her “Ideal Income Position” while maintaining a balanced life. Mardi had many interests outside of work and she wanted time to enjoy them. Work/life balance was something she had always dreamed of, but up to this point it had eluded her. more »

Today I am posting a question from a prospective client in the “research phase” of hiring a coach and my subsequent response.
Dear Coach Connection,
I am still discussing different coaching options but wanted to know whether it would be possible based on our phone call for you to line me up with three different coaches who are ICF certified? Let me know what you think.
Thanks!

You will attain life balance when you enjoy and thrive in all three of your lives simultaneously without guilt or conflict. Life balance is very personal and different for everyone. Many people strive to attain life balance. Yet few people know what life balance really would look like to them, nor how to attain it.
Our three lives determine our life balance.
Work Life. Our work related life consists of what we do to earn an income to provide resources to live and prosper. Yet we gain much more from work. We gain financial and social status. We gain feelings of accomplishment, belonging, power, acceptance, praise and fame, enjoyment, and even feelings of contributing to the good and welfare of our fellow man. The emotional gains from our work often provide far more benefit than the money we earn. more »
