The key to achieving your coachable goals with your life coach is that
you unravel the mystery of you. You will use your life coach as your
personal private mirror to dig down within you to discover your true
passions, priorities, beliefs and values, talents and self-imposed
obstacles. These make up your inner ingredients that impact virtually
all aspects of your life. They are within you. Yet, they are difficult
to see, recognize, and understand without the help of another person.
Discovering these many important inner aspects about you will depend on
how openly you divulge them to your life coach. If you have any
reservations about talking with a particular life coach, then you will
want to seriously consider selecting another life coach, with whom you
have no hesitation.
You want to choose the life coach you really enjoy talking with and who
encourages you to open up to reveal yourself, without any barriers or
feelings of judgment. You want to feel that you are the center of the
universe with your life coach. This way you will finally divulge the
many inner motivations that you have felt inside you, but could not
fully recognize or understand. In simple terms, you will want to have a
strong rapport when you talk with your chosen life coach.
You want your life coach to listen intently with complete objectivity.
Your life coach will also be able to interpret what you really mean
from what you say, because you will most likely be discussing aspects
of yourself that may confuse you. The right life coach will also have
the ability to reflect back to you what you revealed about yourself in
a way that is not only clear and understandable, but is also without
judgment or agenda. Your life coach will reflect the truth to you, just
like a mirror reflects the truth about your what your face looks like.
The more you show your coach about you the more your life coach can
reflect back to you.
At The Coach Connection, we encourage you to conduct coaching sessions
with a number of different life coaches to find the life coach that’s
just right for you. We suggest you speak to a minimum of three life
coaches. This way you can compare skills, find a connection and pick
the life coach you truly want to talk to. However, if you still feel
any reluctance to open up to any of the three life coaches you met
with, move on to additional life coaches, until you find the right life
coach for you.
