Life coaching is making the news more and more every day, and is even being featured on television as content for entertainment shows.
Here are two articles discussing life coaching that I’ve run across recently.

"Life coaching: Becoming a new you for the New Year.

"Life coach could help clear career hurdle.

Unfortunately, they presented a confusing and less than accurate picture of what life coaching really is.  But, one would suspect that there must be something to this life coaching if the likes of Dr. Phil sends his clients to life coaches and the media continues to talk about it.

Is it worth your time to check out life coaching? The answer is a resounding Yes! (Ok, I’m an enthusiastic supporter of life coaching and I want to be upfront about it.) I believe you have so much to gain and nothing to lose to discover if the life coaching process can improve your life.

But how do you learn enough about life coaching to make an informed decision, especially in light of the confusion and inaccuracies portrayed by the media? Where do you start? What do you need to learn? Who can you believe? How do you evaluate life coaching for you?

We have all faced these hurdles and have found ways to overcome them. We at The Coach Connection want to provide you an easier, less confusing, and more reliable (meaning credible and honest with no sales or pressure) path for you to learn what you want to make your own decision about hiring a life coach. Not everyone will want to hire a life coach, and not everyone who does want to hire a life coach will be in the position to get the full value from life coaching to warrant the costs and effort.

There are four main hurdles in discovering whether life coaching is the life improvement process you want to use. We will explain all four hurdles and several ways you can overcome them so you can pick the best path for you. We alert you that we will offer solution paths for each hurdle through TCC. We will also offer alternative solutions in case you wish to use other sources.

Hurdle number one.
How do you learn about life coaching and how it works?

The situation: Few people really understand the true life coaching process. It is a relatively new process (approximately 15 years old) and unfortunately, many people who call themselves coaches further confuse the matter by providing non-coaching services (like consulting, training, or teaching) and mislabel it as life coaching.  We addressed this confusion by responding to a Wall Street Article about dissatisfied clients who had received other services that had been mislabeled as coaching.

Finding a source who will accurately describe what the life coaching process is and how it really works, without trying to sell you into using it can be daunting.

The life coaching process is one of the ten human improvement processes available to you. The other nine processes are more familiar to you, because they have been around much longer. Finding a source who will accurately describe what the life coaching process is and how it really works, without trying to sell you into using it can be daunting.
